Tag Archives: Netflix Expiration Dates

Streaming Video News: September 19, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the animated film Mahavatar Narsimha and yesterday’s premiere of the Hindi series The Ba***ds of Bollywood. I wrote about everything you need to know about the new show from Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan for What’s on Netflix. In other news, the sports drama Soorma expires October 13.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with two new series: the Tamil show Police Police (also in Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu) and Season 2 of Kajol’s Hindi series The Trial (also in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the addition of the Kannada film Sunday Special.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debuts of Kajol’s horror flick Maa and the Tamil film Maareesan. There are more upcoming Netflix expiration dates to be aware of, besides those I mentioned last week. I’m especially sad to see Cargo leave. Here’s the films on the way out:

This isn’t related to Indian cinema, but I wrote a piece for What’s on Netflix about what animated films to watch if your kids are obsessed with Kpop Demon Hunters and you need to redirect them to something different. This is a global problem. πŸ˜‰

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of the Tamil film Thalaivan Thalaivii. The Telugu movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu joined the catalog earlier this week. Prime made two big announcements today, including an 8-film post-theatrical licensing deal with Maddock Films and an August 29 premiere date for the new Original Hindi movie Songs of Paradise.

Today’s new streaming-exclusive Hindi film is John Abraham’s spy flick Tehran on Zee5.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the debut of the new Original series Saare Jahan Se Accha. I wrote up everything you need to know about Saare Jahan Se Accha for What’s on Netflix.

Netflix is set to lose its last Gujarati-language film and most of its Marathi catalogue on September 9. Here’s what’s on the way out:

Streaming Video News: April 10, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s world premiere of the Hindi horror flick Chhorii 2. This is a true sequel to 2021’s Chhorii, which I really enjoyed. Amazon Prime also announced an April 24 streaming debut for the great film Superboys of Malegaon.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s debut of Season 6 of the Hindi animated series The Legend of Hanuman (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu). Hulu randomly added the 1994 Hindi film Dulara earlier this week.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with a trio of newly added theatrical releases: Chhaava (Hindi), Court: State vs a Nobody (Telugu), and Perusu (Tamil).

The BIG Netflix news is that 3 dozen movies from UTV Motion Pictures are set to expire on April 30. A mass UTV exodus happened before in 2022, and while most of the films that expired returned after a month or two, some didn’t come back — and a lot of those movies aren’t streaming anywhere in the United States. If there’s something on this list that you really want to watch (or re-watch), best to prioritize it, just in case. Here’s what’s leaving Netflix at the end of this month:

Streaming Video News: December 8, 2023

I updated my list of Bollywood movies streaming on Netflix with a bunch of new additions yesterday. The big one is the premiere of the Original film The Archies, but Netflix also addedΒ  the Hindi theatrical release Dhak Dhak, the Malayalam movie Adrishya Jalakangal, and the Tamil flick Jigarthanda Double X (also available in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu). The week’s other unexpected new addition is the Norwegian holiday film Christmas as Usual, which stars comedian Kanan Gill, of all people.

A lot of Indian movies will expire from Netflix in the next month, including the great thriller Andhadhun. Here’s what’s leaving and when:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the global debut of the Original comedy Mast Mein Rehna Ka, starring Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff.

Zee5 premiered its own new Original Hindi film yesterday: Pankaj Tripathi’s Kadak Singh.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of the Telugu series Vadhuvu (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Tamil).

Streaming Video News: May 9, 2022

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with upcoming expiration dates for a bunch of films from Shah Rukh Khan’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment:

Other titles like Dear Zindagi have also expired in recent weeks, but I don’t think this necessarily means that Netflix’s deal with Red Chillies is done for good and that the films are headed to another streaming service. Chennai Express returned to Netflix in August 2021, and Yodha and two other titles returned in January of this year. This could just be a reset before the start of a new streaming contract. However, there’s no guarantee that the above titles will return to Netflix, or that they will return quickly if they do, so prioritize watching them if you’re so inclined.

Last week, Netflix added a pair of Hindi movies, including Radhe Shyam and the Original film Thar, which is really good. The Tamil action flick Beast — starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde — debuts on Netflix May 10 (in the afternoon in the US). And Netflix recently moved Masaba Masaba into the “Worth the Wait” row on their New & Popular page, joining She. No Season 2 release dates for either series yet, though.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with a bunch of additions in the last week:

The Amazon Original anthology series Modern Love: Mumbai premieres in the afternoon on Thursday, May 12.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of the Hotstar Special Hindi series Home Shanti, which is also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.
