Streaming Video News: January 8, 2026

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debuts of the Hindi comedy De De Pyaar De 2 and the Telugu action sequel Akhanda 2. The Hindi social drama Haq was added last week, while I was still on vacation.

December was a super busy month at Netflix, so check out my December 2025 Indian roundup at What’s on Netflix to make sure you didn’t miss anything. While you’re there, you can see what shows and movies are on the way in my 2026 Netflix Indian Originals preview.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with a new Tamil series added while I was on vacation — LBW: Love Beyond Wicket (also available in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu).

There was nothing added to Amazon Prime today in the US, but they did announce a January 23 premiere date for a new Original Telugu movie called Cheekatilo, starring Sobhita Dhulipala.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s premiere of Season 4 of the Hindi series Four More Shots Please!. Earlier this week, the Maddock Horror Universe vampire flick Thamma started streaming on Prime.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s debut of the Telugu film Premante. Here’s where we stand with all the Yash Raj Films titles added for the “Holiday Season” event that runs through December 27:

December 11: Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi (2002) & Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002)
December 12: Bewakoofiyaan (2014) & Mere Dad Ki Maruthi (2013)
December 13: Bank Chor (2017) & Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)
December 14: Kabul Express (2006) & Tashan (2008)
December 15: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007) & Sui Dhaaga: Made in India (2018)
December 16: Daawat-e-Ishq (2014) & Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011)
December 17: Qaidi Band (2017) & Titli (2014)
December 18: Aurangzeb (2013) & Thugs of Hindostan (2018)

The Netflix Original movie sequel Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders premieres on Friday, followed by Season 4 of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Saturday, with first guest Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

My list of Bollywood movies on Hulu got an update today with two new series: Madhuri Dixit’s Hindi show Mrs. Deshpande (also in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu) and the Malayalam series Pharma (also in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

After posting a review of Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders on Friday, I’m going to take some time off for the holidays. I’ll try to update the three main streaming pages with new additions, but I’ll do so sporadically. Here’s a calendar of some of the films and shows coming to streaming over the next couple of weeks (including the few we know from the rest of the YRF Holiday Season event):

December 22: Aaha Kalyanam (Tamil) on Netflix
December 25: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat on ZEE5
December 26: Ek Tha Tiger, Hichki, Sultan, & Tiger Zinda Hai on Netflix
January 1, 2026: LBW: Love Beyond Wicket, Season 1 (Tamil) on Hulu

If you want to know what’s coming even further out, please check out my GIANT preview of the new Indian Original movies and series coming to Netflix in 2026 (and beyond). I love putting this together for What’s on Netflix every year, and it’s full of a ton of great information.

Thanks as always for another wonderful year at Access Bollywood. Special thanks to those of you who contributed via PayPal and Venmo. Your support means so much and helps keep this site going strong. Best wishes for a healthy holiday season and a happy new year! — Kathy

Streaming Video News: December 4, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the Telugu film The Girlfriend and with five Yash Raj Films titles added to celebrate Ranveer Singh’s 15th anniversary as an actor:

Fun fact: I watched Befikre in 2016 intending to review it, but I immediately forgot both my intention to review it and everything that happened in the movie. That never happens, so do with that info what you will.

I’m still obsessively checking Netflix to determine the schedule for the YRF “Holiday Season” event that runs from December 11-27/12-28 (depending on your country). I’m excited that Titli and Qaidi Band are part of the lineup, as they haven’t been included in the YRF streaming catalog in the past. If we get Roadside Romeo as part of this, I’m going to freak out. Here’s what we know so far:

December 12 – Bewakoofiyaan & Mere Dad Ki Maruthi
December 13 – Bank Chor & Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
December 15 – Sui Dhaaga: Made in India
December 16 – Daawat-e-Ishq & Mere Brother Ki Dulhan
December 17 – Qaidi Band & Titli
December 18 – Aurangzeb & Thugs of Hindostan
December 23 – Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (per CinemaRare)
December 24 – Bunty Aur Babli (per CinemaRare)

The new Netflix Original Tamil movie Stephen releases on Friday.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the additions of the Malayalam movie Diés Iraé and the Bengali series Milon Hobe Kotodine.

Streaming Video News: November 26, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the Hindi romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Several films will be added to Netflix Thursday afternoon in the United States, including:

Netflix also released a trailer for its upcoming Original Tamil thriller film Stephen, which debuts December 5:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s addition of the English-dubbed version and the Hindi-dubbed version of the Kannada film Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate. If you’d like to honor America’s indigenous people, please consider donating to the Native Organizers Alliance. — Kathy

Streaming Video News: November 13, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with a bunch of new additions. Besides the premiere of Season 3 of Delhi Crime, the 2025 films added today include: Dude (Tamil), Jolly LLB 3 (Hindi), and Telusu Kada (Telugu). Other additions include a handful of Classic Yash Raj Films titles:

Earlier this week, it was reported that Jolly LLB 3 will stream concurrently on Netflix and JioHotstar. I suspect that only applies to India, as there is no sign of Jolly LLB 3 on Hulu in the United States. I did update my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the streaming debut of the Malayalam film Avihitham (also available in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu).

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the streaming debut of director Anurag Kashyap’s Hindi film Nishaanchi— AND the world premiere of Nishaanchi 2! They just skipped theaters and dropped the sequel with no prior notice!

Streaming Video News: October 23, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of the romantic comedy Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. The big news from Prime is that the entire Yash Raj Films catalog is set to expire on October 30. (Follow the above link to my Prime page for the full list of all 77 expiring titles.) YRF’s most recent movie War 2 is streaming on Netflix, so there’s a chance that’s where the catalog is headed. Or YRF could just put them all on YouTube with ads. We’ll see what happens.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the Telugu film They Call Him OG and the Gujarati horror sequel Vash Level 2. As part of its quarterly earnings report, Netflix revealed a bunch of Original titles set to release before the end of 2025. From India, that includes Delhi Crime Season 3 (November 13), the family sitcom Single Papa, and the thriller sequel Raat Akeli Hai 2. The last two titles don’t have release dates yet.

Streaming Video News: October 9, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the streaming premiere of War 2. The main catalogue entry features Hindi and Tamil dialogue options than can be chosen from the audio menu. There is a separate catalogue entry for the Telugu-dubbed version of War 2. I have no idea why. The animated series Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabrata debuts October 10, but that’s the last official Netflix premiere date on the calendar for now.

In other news, Netflix made some user interface changes to downplay identifying Netflix Original shows and films as Netflix Originals. Again, I am not sure why.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Hindi series Search: The Naina Murder Case (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the addition of the Hindi-dubbed version of Rajnikanth’s film Coolie, renamed Coolie: The Powerhouse.

Streaming Video News: August 28, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the world premiere of the Hindi film Songs of Paradise, the story of Kashmir’s first female radio singer.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the streaming debut of Metro… In Dino. In a curious move, Netflix also added John Abraham’s Tehran to its catalog today — two weeks after its world premier on ZEE5. I didn’t care for Tehran, so now I can skip it on two services! The Telugu film Kingdom was added earlier this week.

There are some more upcoming Netflix expiration dates to be aware of:

If you’re wondering why I haven’t mentioned updates to my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu page in the last few Streaming Video News posts, it’s because there’s not been much to report. Just a few random cable shows added and the odd Bengali movie from 2018. Things look like they’ll be slow until mid-September when the streamer debuts the new Telugu series Rambo in Love and Season 2 of Kajol’s series The Trial.

Streaming Video News: July 31, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of both versions of Housefull 5 (each with a different ending): Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the Telugu film Thammudu.

ZEE5 premiered the new Hindi series Bakaiti today, starring Rajesh Tailang and Sheeba Chaddha. It has just 7 episodes that average about 20-minutes long — so about two-and-a-half hours to finish the series.

The big news this week is that Aamir Khan opted to make his recent theatrical release Sitaare Zameen Par available for rent on YouTube rather than sell the rights to a subscription streaming service. Click here to rent Sitaare Zameen Par in the United States for $6.99. It has Hindi and Turkish audio options and a “CC” logo, which I hope means English subtitles, but I haven’t verified that yet. News stories had made it seem like Khan would host the rental on his Aamir Khan Talkies page, but the rental is done via the YouTube Movies & TV channel.

Streaming Video News: May 29, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Tamil action film Retro. Yesterday, the streamer added the Telugu sequel HIT: The Third Case to the catalog, and Salman Khan’s Sikandar became available over the weekend. Netflix also renewed three Hindi series for additional seasons: The Royals, Black Warrant, and Mismatched, for its fourth and final season.

A bunch of Telugu movies and the Hindi film Axone are set to expire from Netflix in June:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of the new Hindi series Criminal Justice: A Family Matter (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu). Disney — the company that owns Hulu — announced new perks programs for Disney+ and Hulu subscribers, with further details on the Hulu program coming June 2.

There are no new Indian movies on Amazon Prime this week, but I am excited to watch the kidnapping thriller Stolen when it premieres June 4 (the afternoon of June 3 in the US):
