Streaming Video News: October 23, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of the romantic comedy Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. The big news from Prime is that the entire Yash Raj Films catalog is set to expire on October 30. (Follow the above link to my Prime page for the full list of all 77 expiring titles.) YRF’s most recent movie War 2 is streaming on Netflix, so there’s a chance that’s where the catalog is headed. Or YRF could just put them all on YouTube with ads. We’ll see what happens.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the Telugu film They Call Him OG and the Gujarati horror sequel Vash Level 2. As part of its quarterly earnings report, Netflix revealed a bunch of Original titles set to release before the end of 2025. From India, that includes Delhi Crime Season 3 (November 13), the family sitcom Single Papa, and the thriller sequel Raat Akeli Hai 2. The last two titles don’t have release dates yet.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the streaming premiere of War 2. The main catalogue entry features Hindi and Tamil dialogue options than can be chosen from the audio menu. There is a separate catalogue entry for the Telugu-dubbed version of War 2. I have no idea why. The animated series Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabrata debuts October 10, but that’s the last official Netflix premiere date on the calendar for now.

In other news, Netflix made some user interface changes to downplay identifying Netflix Original shows and films as Netflix Originals. Again, I am not sure why.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Hindi series Search: The Naina Murder Case (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the addition of the Hindi-dubbed version of Rajnikanth’s film Coolie, renamed Coolie: The Powerhouse.

Streaming Video News: August 28, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the world premiere of the Hindi film Songs of Paradise, the story of Kashmir’s first female radio singer.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the streaming debut of Metro… In Dino. In a curious move, Netflix also added John Abraham’s Tehran to its catalog today — two weeks after its world premier on ZEE5. I didn’t care for Tehran, so now I can skip it on two services! The Telugu film Kingdom was added earlier this week.

There are some more upcoming Netflix expiration dates to be aware of:

If you’re wondering why I haven’t mentioned updates to my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu page in the last few Streaming Video News posts, it’s because there’s not been much to report. Just a few random cable shows added and the odd Bengali movie from 2018. Things look like they’ll be slow until mid-September when the streamer debuts the new Telugu series Rambo in Love and Season 2 of Kajol’s series The Trial.

Streaming Video News: July 31, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of both versions of Housefull 5 (each with a different ending): Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the Telugu film Thammudu.

ZEE5 premiered the new Hindi series Bakaiti today, starring Rajesh Tailang and Sheeba Chaddha. It has just 7 episodes that average about 20-minutes long — so about two-and-a-half hours to finish the series.

The big news this week is that Aamir Khan opted to make his recent theatrical release Sitaare Zameen Par available for rent on YouTube rather than sell the rights to a subscription streaming service. Click here to rent Sitaare Zameen Par in the United States for $6.99. It has Hindi and Turkish audio options and a “CC” logo, which I hope means English subtitles, but I haven’t verified that yet. News stories had made it seem like Khan would host the rental on his Aamir Khan Talkies page, but the rental is done via the YouTube Movies & TV channel.

Streaming Video News: May 29, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Tamil action film Retro. Yesterday, the streamer added the Telugu sequel HIT: The Third Case to the catalog, and Salman Khan’s Sikandar became available over the weekend. Netflix also renewed three Hindi series for additional seasons: The Royals, Black Warrant, and Mismatched, for its fourth and final season.

A bunch of Telugu movies and the Hindi film Axone are set to expire from Netflix in June:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of the new Hindi series Criminal Justice: A Family Matter (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu). Disney — the company that owns Hulu — announced new perks programs for Disney+ and Hulu subscribers, with further details on the Hulu program coming June 2.

There are no new Indian movies on Amazon Prime this week, but I am excited to watch the kidnapping thriller Stolen when it premieres June 4 (the afternoon of June 3 in the US):

Streaming Video News: May 8, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of John Abraham’s political thriller The Diplomat. Yesterday, the streamer added the Tamil film Good Bad Ugly and the Telugu comedy Jack. All eyes are on tomorrow’s premiere of the new Hindi Original romance series The Royals, starring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s premiere of the Hindi series Gram Chikitsalay and yesterday’s addition of Tamannaah Bhatia’s Telugu supernatural thriller Odela 2. News broke today that the romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf — starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi — is forgoing its planned May 9 theatrical release and instead premiering directly on Amazon Prime on May 16 (or the afternoon of May 15 if you’re in the United States). [Update: The movie’s release on Prime probably won’t happen as scheduled due to a lawsuit. Update 2: Bhool Chuk Maaf will get a theatrical release, but with a shorter exclusivity window. It could come to Prime as soon as June 6.]

Announcement: In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer Bhool Chuk Maaf directly to your homes on May 16--only on Prime Video, worldwide. While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating this film with you in theaters, the spirit of the nation comes first. Jai Hind.

Streaming Video News: April 24, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debuts of two Hindi theatrical releases: Sohum Shah’s kidnapping drama Crazxy and director Reema Kagti’s Superboys of Malegaon (which I really, really liked). Earlier this week, Prime added the Tamil film Veera Dheera Sooran – Part 2.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of the Telugu film MAD Square. The Netflix Original action flick Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins makes its world premiere on Friday. I previewed the new Hindi film for What’s on Netflix.

Here’s one final reminder that this is the last weekend to watch any of the 35 Hindi movies by UTV Motion Pictures expiring from Netflix on April 30.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the streaming debut of the Malayalam film L2: Empuraan (also available in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu). Hulu also added the 2018 Hindi horror flick 1921 earlier this week.

Streaming Video News: April 10, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s world premiere of the Hindi horror flick Chhorii 2. This is a true sequel to 2021’s Chhorii, which I really enjoyed. Amazon Prime also announced an April 24 streaming debut for the great film Superboys of Malegaon.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s debut of Season 6 of the Hindi animated series The Legend of Hanuman (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu). Hulu randomly added the 1994 Hindi film Dulara earlier this week.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with a trio of newly added theatrical releases: Chhaava (Hindi), Court: State vs a Nobody (Telugu), and Perusu (Tamil).

The BIG Netflix news is that 3 dozen movies from UTV Motion Pictures are set to expire on April 30. A mass UTV exodus happened before in 2022, and while most of the films that expired returned after a month or two, some didn’t come back — and a lot of those movies aren’t streaming anywhere in the United States. If there’s something on this list that you really want to watch (or re-watch), best to prioritize it, just in case. Here’s what’s leaving Netflix at the end of this month:

Streaming Video News: March 7, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the Original romantic comedy Nadaaniyan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Earlier this week, the Telugu film Thandel was added to the catalog.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the English-language comedy series Deli Boys and the streaming debut of Sonu Sood’s 2025 theatrical release Fateh.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the new English romcom Picture This and the new Hindi series Dupahiya.

Streaming Video News: November 7, 2024

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debuts of the Telugu film Devara: Part 1 and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s mystery The Buckingham Murders, available with fully Hindi-dubbed dialogue. Hopefully we’ll get the original English/Hindi version soon. [Update: The Hindi/English version of The Buckingham Murders is now available and is the default version.] The Netflix Original comedy drama Vijay 69 premieres on Friday.

November is a busy month for Netflix Indian Originals. Here’s what we have to look forward to:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s streaming debut of Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. Yesterday, the Indian spin-off series Citadel: Honey Bunny premiered. I was really disappointed by it, especially since I liked the original Citadel series.
