I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Telugu theatrical release Buddy and the premiere of the Original limited series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The surprise addition earlier this week was Student of the Year 2, which I kinda liked due to Ananya Panday’s performance.
The only other streaming debut of note today is the premiere of Kay Kay Menon’s new thriller series Murshid on ZEE5.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Malayalam film Aadujeevitham:The Goat Life (also available in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu) and the debut of the new series Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper. Big expiration date news at Netflix! Both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will leave Netflix on August 7, just five days after the premiere of the documentary Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli. It won’t surprise me if Netflix renews their license to screen the Baahubali films, but it might not happen right away. Or the films might move to a new streaming service. Or maybe they won’t.
Given that the streaming availability of movies is never a sure thing, what are your options if you want to own it in physical form? From what I’ve been able to find on Amazon, individual DVDs of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion formatted for North American DVD players sell for $49.99 each. If you are the ultimate collector, there’s a 2-DVD set of both Baahubali films for $375. I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s world premiere of the Hindi film Sharmajee Ki Beti, starring Divya Dutta and Saiyami Kher.
Today’s other world premiere Hindi film is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Rauta Ka Raaz, streaming now on Zee5.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s addition of the Hindi-dubbed version of the Malayalam film Aavesham. 2014’s Total Siyapaa is also now streaming. It’s not that great.
Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the addition of the Telugu film Bhaje Vaayu Vegam. I also wrote a preview of Wild Wild Punjab for What’s on Netflix ahead of the film’s July 10 release.
If you’re looking for a fun podcast to listen to this weekend, I was recently a guest on the Bollywood Drafts Podcast. The premise of the podcast is to take a collection of films and rank them in reverse order from 13 to 1 to find the best movie of the bunch. Past topics include the films of Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For our episode, four of us — me, Shah Shahid, Nim Kaur, and Erin Fraser — ranked the movies that have won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in the 21st Century. I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Hindi theatrical release LSD 2: Love Sex aur Dhokha 2 and yesterday’s debut of the Telugu film Gangs of Godavari. Today was also supposed to be the premiere of the Netflix Original movie Maharaj, but a Gujarat court stayed the film’s release at the request of a Hindu rights organization. I wrote more about the Maharaj controversy for What’s on Netflix. Hopefully, Maharaj will release on June 18 when the stay order ends, but we’ll have to wait and see.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with yesterday’s additions of the Vidya Balan theatrical release Do Aur Do Pyaar (which is temporarily unavailable as of June 15) and the Hotstar Specials Telugu series Yakshini (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Tamil).
One more new Hindi film to watch this weekend is the Zee5 Original Luv Ki Arrange Marriage.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s additions of the Telugu film Tillu Square and the Hindi movie Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao. These theatrical releases come on the heels of last week’s new additions: the Bollywood flicks All India Rank and Article 370. Netflix is investing heavily in Hindi theatrical releases this year, with movies generally hitting streaming 8 weeks after they debut in theaters. Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan could come to Netflix as early as next week, followed by Crew in late May and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in early June (though none have official streaming debut dates yet).
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s addition of the Vidyut Jammwal-Arjun Rampal extreme sports action flick Crakk: Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa. The Telugu film Bhimaa is also now streaming (dubbed in Malayalam and Tamil as well).
Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s additions of the Hindi version of Operation Valentine and the Telugu film The Family Star. Yesterday saw the debut of the Hindi series Dil Dosti Dilemma. As far as Hindi theatrical releases go, expect to see Yodha come to Prime in May and Maidaan in June.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the Netflix Original film Bhakshak, starring Bhumi Pednekar. I enjoyed it. Yesterday, the 2024 Telugu movie Guntur Kaaram debuted on Netflix, with dubbed versions available in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with yesterday’s addition of the 2024 Tamil film Captain Miller.
Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu because the finale of Aarya Season 3 is now streaming. Hulu also announced March 8 debut dates for Emraan Hashmi’s Hindi series Showtime and the new Tamil series Heart Beat.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s surprise additions of the Hindi romantic drama Starfish and the Telugu action film Salaar (also available in Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil). Netflix also announced a February 9 premiere date for the Original thriller movie Bhakshak, starring Bhumi Pednekar.
Two Irrfan Khan movies will expire from Netflix next month. Talvar (which is great) leaves February 1, followed by the Bengali film Doob: No Bed of Roses on February 4.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with Thursday’s debut of the Hindi series Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra in his first web series.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of the Malayalam series Perilloor Premier League (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).
Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with addition of the Malayalam film Kaathal – The Core. The big news is that Tiger 3 debuts on Prime on January 7. [Update: Tiger 3 is streaming now on Prime.] Amazon also released the official trailer for Sidharth Malhotra’s new web series Indian Police Force, premiering January 19:

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the Netflix Original Malayalam documentary Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case. Yesterday was busy, with the additions of Aadi Keshava (Telugu), Kuiko (Tamil), and Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (Hindi).
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the premiere of the Amazon Original Hindi film Dry Day. The Tamil flick 80s Buildup was added as well.
I’m taking much of the rest of 2023 off, but there are a lot of Hindi films hitting streaming in the days to come. Here’s what to look forward to (note that titles on Amazon Prime and Zee5 may be available in the United States the day before):
December 26 — Kho Gaye Hum Kahan on Netflix
December 28 — Shastry Virudh Shastry and Three of Us on Netflix; 12th Fail on Hulu

Next week is going to be really busy for new streaming-exclusive Hindi films. The big one, of course, is The Archies (read my preview at What’s on Netflix) on Netflix on Thursday, December 7. [For some reason, Netflix is adding the theatrical release Dhak Dhak that day as well.] Then, on December 8 — although more likely the afternoon of the 7th in North America — Amazon Prime debuts the comedy Mast Mein Rehna Ka starring Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta and Zee5 launches the Pankaj Tripathi thriller Kadak Singh. Clear your schedule, ’cause there’s gonna be a lot of new stuff to watch!
