Streaming Video News: July 18, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the Vir Das comedy special Fool Volume — his 6th standup special for Netflix! This week, the streamer announced an August 13 release date for the new spy series Saare Jahan Se Accha.

Here are some upcoming Netflix expiration dates to be aware of:

Bulbul Can Sing (2018/Assamese) — expires July 23
Tiger 24 (2022) — expires August 1
Kavacham (2018/Telugu) — expires August 14
Roja (1992/Telugu) — expires August 14
Yuddham Sharanam (2017/Telugu) — expires August 14

This weekend’s new Hindi streaming debut is the Sanjay Dutt-Mouni Roy horror comedy The Bhootnii on ZEE5.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of Season 2 of Special Ops (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu) and the streaming debut of the Tamil film DNA (also available in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the streaming debuts of both the Tamil version and Telugu version of Kuberaa (which was filmed in both languages simultaneously).

Streaming Video News: December 13, 2024

Quick update to say that my very, very big preview of New Indian Netflix Original Movies and Series Coming to Netflix is up at What’s on Netflix. I’ve got detailed write-ups of 11 new series, 12 new movies, and 11 returning series, with details on cast, plot, and production status. There are also some small bits of news about projects with indeterminate fates (I’m ready to declare Baahubali: Before the Beginning dead). My favorite tidbit is about the crime series that likely won’t be going forward because its creator was arrested for fraud.

Streaming Video News: August 29, 2024

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Telugu theatrical release Buddy and the premiere of the Original limited series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The surprise addition earlier this week was Student of the Year 2, which I kinda liked due to Ananya Panday’s performance.

The only other streaming debut of note today is the premiere of Kay Kay Menon’s new thriller series Murshid on ZEE5.
