I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Telugu movie MAD and Wednesday’s streaming debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster Jawan (also available in Tamil and Telugu). While Netflix bills their version as the “Extended Cut,” it’s only one minute longer than the theatrical release.

There are a few Indian titles scheduled to expire from Netflix this month, but the real news is that Netflix is poised to lose almost its entire Punjabi collection on December 1:

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the addition of the Telugu film Skanda: The Attacker (also in Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil) and the debut of Season 3 of the Hindi series Aarya (also in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the Tamil film Raththam and the premiere of the Hindi mystery series PI Meena. Keep in mind that searching for it as “P. I. Meena” returns no results. It can only be found by searching for “PI Meena.”

Amazon Prime is getting a big direct-to-streaming release with Pippa, starring Ishaan Khattar and Mrunal Thakur. The war drama debuts on Prime on November 10 (likely the afternoon of November 9 in the US):

I updated my list of Bollywood movies Netflix with today’s premiere of director Vishal Bhardwaj’s spy film Khufiya, starring Tabu and Ali Fazal. Yesterday marked the streaming debut of the Telugu movie Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. The Akshay Kumar-Pankaj Tripathi comedy OMG 2 comes to Netflix on October 7 (though it’s the censored version, unfortunately).

There are some Netflix expiration dates to keep aware of. Sanju departs the service on October 15, followed by Baadshaho (which is not great) and Mr. Chandramouli on October 17.

Besides OMG 2, the other new Independence Day theatrical release to hit streaming this weekend is Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which debuted today on Zee5.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s premiere of Mumbai Diaries Season 2.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s debut of two brand new Indian series: the Hindi show Kaala (available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs) and the Tamil series MY3 (also in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Telugu). MY3 is an official remake of the 2017 Korean series I’m Not a Robot.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon with this week’s premiere of the new Hindi series Bambai Meri Jaan (“Bombay My Beloved“).

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the streaming debuts of the Telugu films Ramabanam and Bhola Shankar. Netflix also announced an October 5 release date for director Vishal Bhardwaj’s Netflix Original movie Khufiya (aka “House of Spies“):

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s additions of the Hindi romance Satyaprem Ki Katha and the Tamil horror flick Pizza 3: The Mummy. Earlier this week, the Kannada film Aachar & Co became available for streaming.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s debut of Tamannaah Bhatia’s new Hindi crime series Aakhri Sach, which is available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu as well. The first two episodes are available for streaming right now, with new episodes added on Fridays (Thursday afternoons in the US, probably).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s addition of the Telugu movie Bro., which is also available in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil.

News leaked this week that Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix Original film adaptation of the novel The Devotion of Suspect X starring Kareena Kapoor Khan will be called Jaane Jaan (although in the US, the title is listed as “Suspect X,” for some reason). Netflix made a cute video celebrating Kareena’s streaming debut (which may happen next month). [Update: Netflix officially announced its release date as September 21, Bebo’s birthday]:

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s big premiere of the new Original dark comedy series Guns & Gulaabs, Raj & DK’s first show for Netflix. Earlier in the week, Netflix added a trio of older Telugu films to the catalog: Kavacham, Roja, and Yuddham Sharanam.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with yesterday’s additions of the Tamil film Kolai and the debut of the docuseries AP Dhillon: First of a Kind.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of the Tamil series Mathagam (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Telugu). As of now, only the first episode of the series is available under the “Season 1” tab — a clue that something is wrong since there is only one season. You have to switch to “Season 2” to find the next four episodes of Mathagam. I’m sure Hulu will fix this at some point.

Hulu also added the great 2022 American Desi comedy Four Samosas — a terrific film if you’re looking for something fun to watch over the weekend.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the docuseries The Hunt for Veerappan and yesterday’s addition of the Telugu film Rangabali. There’s no sign of Jimmy Shergill’s new series Choona, which was supposed to release on August 3. I suspect that’s to leave more space before the launch of Guns & Gulaabs on August 18. Netflix describes both shows as “Offbeat, Exciting” in their catalog entries, and there’s a good chance Choona could be eclipsed by the higher profile new show from Raj & DK.

Netflix released a video announcing a September 1 release date for the new Excel Entertainment movie Friday Night Plan, about two teenage brothers who make big plans when their mom (Juhi Chawla) leaves them home alone for the night.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of the new Telugu series Dayaa (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Tamil).

Nothing new on Amazon Prime in the US this week, but journalist Suchin Mehrotra posted a really good interview with Amazon’s Head of Indian Originals, Aparna Purohit, on the latest episode of The Streaming Show podcast.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with today’s direct-to-streaming debut of the Hindi romance Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the premiere of the Malayalam series Kerala Crime Files: Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with yesterday’s debut of the Original reality series Social Currency. Other recent additions include the 2023 Malayalam film Thrishanku and the older Telugu movies 90ML, Namo Venkatesa, Pandurangadu, and Sindhooram. Netflix also revealed a July 15 release date for the new Original series Kohrra.

P.S. Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is out on Zee5 now.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the new Original Hindi series, Scoop, directed by Hansal Mehta. Other additions in the last two days include the return of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (which I thought was decent), a new season of Chhota Bheem, and the 2013 Telugu films Attarintiki Daredi, David, Ramachari, and Ramayya Vasthavayya.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with this week’s surprise addition of the 2023 Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. A bunch of Telugu titles were added as well, including Amrutham Chandamamalo, Rowdy Fellow, Thammudu, Three, Yogi, and the 2023 theatrical release Meter.

Weirdly, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is temporarily unavailable after having just been added to Netflix on March 15. It’s set to return May 31. A handful of Indian titles will expire from Netflix over the next several weeks, including:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with yesterday’s premiere of the new Hindi series Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu). The service announced that the Hindi series The Night Manager returns June 30.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the addition of the Malayalam film Enthadaa Saji and the debut of the new comedy special Biswa Kalyan Rath’s Mood Kharaab. Amazon released the trailer for the Hindi thriller series Dahaad, which premieres May 12. It looks pretty good:

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s premiere of the new Original Hindi vampire series Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, along with the additions of the Telugu films Ready and Satya 2. Season 3 of the reality series Indian Matchmaking debuts tomorrow. (FYI, the creators of Indian Matchmaking just announced a spin-off series — Jewish Matchmaking.)

Next week will be busy for Netflix. Be on the lookout for the 2023 Telugu movie Dasara to join the service on April 26, followed by a trio of Dharma Productions titles on April 28: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (which was OK), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (which was bad), and OK Jaanu (which was good).

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the additions of the Malayalam movie Vellari Pattanam and the true crime series Dancing on the Grave.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with the debut of Season 2 of the Tamil series Kana Kaanum Kaalangal.
