Streaming Video News: March 27, 2025

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with today’s streaming debut of Shahid Kapoor’s cop flick Deva.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with yesterday’s premiere of comedian Zakir Khan’s new stand-up special Delulu Express. This is his fifth comedy special for Amazon, following Haq Se Single, Kaksha Gyarvi, Tathastu, and Mannpasand.

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s premiere of the new Tamil series Om Kali Jai Kali (also available in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Telugu). I’ve also continued my process of pruning inactive links on the Hulu page. I’m halfway through the Malayalam Movies section, and I’ve already removed almost 800 entries from that section and above. Yikes.

Speaking of movies expiring from streaming services, more than two dozen Indian shows and films are leaving Netflix in the next month. It’s mostly cartoons, but there are some South Indian movies on the list as well. Here’s what’s leaving and when:

In Theaters: March 27, 2015

As expected, there are no new Hindi movies opening in the Chicago area on Friday, March 27, 2015. The great thriller NH10 carries over for a third week at the AMC South Barrington 30 in South Barrington and Regal Cantera Stadium 17 in Warrenville. Might be a good weekend to check out the selection of Bollywood movies on Netflix, no?

Opening March 27: Aa Dekhen Zara and Ek – The Power of One

Two new Hindi movies are scheduled to open in the Chicago area this Friday, March 27. Ek – The Power of One and Aa Dekhen Zara will be showing at the AMC South Barrington 30 in South Barrington.

Ek – The Power of One stars Bobby Deol as an assassin on the run from the law. He takes refuge with a family who mistakes him for its long lost son.

In Aa Dekhen Zara, a photographer (Neil Nitin Mukesh) inherits a magical camera from his grandfather. Bipasha Basu stars as the photog’s DJ girlfriend.
