I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with dozens of Indian movies added in the last week. Amazon India is wrapping up its Prime Day promotions, with last of its big 2019 releases — the Marathi film Mogra Phulaalaa — due to join the streaming service on July 14. I’m surprised that Student of the Year 2 wasn’t ultimately part of the promotions, but it’ll make its way to Prime eventually. Besides the previously announced 2019 releases, several more were added to Prime in the last week:
Other recent notable additions include the classic comedy 3 Idiots, the lovely Bengali-English-Japanese film The Japanese Wife, and the hilarious documentary Meet the Patels, which became available on Prime the same day it expired from Netflix.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with two 2019 Malayalam releases just added today: Ishq and Kumbalangi Nights. The 2019 Telugu film Maharshi was added yesterday.
These additions are part of Amazon’s big marketing push in India, leading up to Prime Day on July 15-16. Here’s what else to expect in the coming days (get your 30-day free trial now if you don’t yet have Prime):
Due to the time difference between India and the United States, these films will likely become available in the US the day before their official release date. The asterisk by Student of the Year 2 is because Amazon hasn’t officially announced it yet — although the cast just appeared in a new Prime promo video. My information comes from Bollywood Buff, a great site that keeps track of streaming video licensing deals in India, including likely streaming release dates for Hindi movies. Some of these dates may not apply outside of India, but it’s still fun to see what’s might be on the horizon.
Bollywood Buff expects The Tashkent Files to join on Netflix on July 12, with Badla also becoming available sometime this month (I predict July 8).
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with a July 9 expiration date for the international production Lion. I also added a link to the Netflix original Hindi horror series Typewriter, which premieres July 19. The trailer is creepy:
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the premiere of the Hindi film Chopsticks, starring Karwaan‘s Mithila Parkar as a woman who enlists the help of a conman (Abhay Deol) to find her stolen car. Yesterday, Netflix added the March Hindi release Mere Pyare Prime Minister to its streaming catalog.
Three Indian titles expire tomorrow from the Netflix catalog: Delhi in a Day, Firaaq, and Makkhi.

Junglee is now on Hotstar. I really enjoyed this family-friendly martial arts flick. It disappeared from theaters quickly this spring, so now’s a great time to catch up with it on streaming.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with several recent additions to the catalog. Two 2018 Hindi films — the LGTBQ family drama Evening Shadows and Radhika Apte’s Bombairiya — are now available for streaming, as is 2017’s Bhasmasur. Other newly added 2018 releases include the Tamil movie Genius and the Tamil and Telugu versions of Sarkar.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with more than 50 new additions in the last week. I’m really excited that the 2013 spy thriller D-Day is available for streaming again, because it hasn’t been for a couple of years. It has one of my all-time favorite song picturizations and great performances by Irrfan Khan, Arjun Rampal, and Huma Qureshi. Prime also added a number of 2019 theatrical releases to its streaming catalog:
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the exciting addition of the Malayalam film Mikhael, which debuted in theaters just six weeks ago! A handful of 2018 releases were also added in recent days, including Mannar Vagaiyara (Tamil), Natakam (Telugu), and Pakka (Tamil). Besides those more recent options, two older flicks with intriguing lead pairs joined the catalog as well: the 1978 Sridevi-Rajinikanth hit Priya and 2005’s 7 1/2 Phere: More Than a Wedding, starring Juhi Chawla and Irrfan Khan.
Marathi-film fans have until March 9 to watch 2017’s Baghtos Kay Mujra Kar before it expires from Prime.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with a bunch of Indian films — usually ten or so new titles every day. In addition to 2007’s Jab We Met, 2010’s Aisha, and the Amazon original Hindi series Four More Shots Please!, a lot of 2018 releases were added recently:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with two 2018 releases: the Kannada film Nathicharami and Pahuna, a Nepali-language film about a trio of kids trying to survive in India, produced by Priyanka Chopra.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the addition of the Hindi cop drama Soni, making its worldwide debut on the streaming service today after a short festival run last year. I also added three Bangladeshi films to the Bengali movies section: 2018’s Komola Rocket, Television, and Ant Story, aka Piprabidya.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with a few newly added 2018 releases: Mumbai Pune Mumbai 3 (Marathi), Seethakaathi (Tamil), and Shambo Shankara (Telugu). While scrolling through the 1,000+ Indian titles on Amazon, I found several dozen that have been removed from the service. Sadly, one of those is Village Rockstars, India’s submission to this year’s Oscars. It was only up for a few days before disappearing, which is what happened to Tumbbad before it finally made its triumphant return. Hopefully the same thing happens to Village Rockstars.
I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime over the weekend with some notable new additions, chief of which is the Amazon Original series Mirzapur, starring Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal. Jackky Bhagnani’s 2018 theatrical release Mitron is now available for streaming, as are several other films from this year, including the Marathi flick Boyz 2 and the Tamil movies Ammu Kolai Vazhakku, Pariyerum Perumal, and Variyavan.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the addition of the 2018 sports biopic Soorma to the streaming catalog.
I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with several 2018 theatrical releases. The lone Hindi film among them is Fanney Khan, which was disappointing in spite of its stellar cast. The Marathi movies Me Yetoy…Chhota Pudhari and Take Care Good Night are now available for streaming, as are the Tamil and Telugu versions of the thriller U Turn. There are still more titles on the way in October. Sanju is supposedly coming to Netflix this month, and Prime announced that it will add John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate on October 19.
