Streaming Video News: November 25, 2014

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix to include one new addition to the catalog and one expiration date. The 2014 comedy Bewakoofiyaan is now available for streaming. The movie tanked at the theater, but it’s one of my favorite films of the year.

You’ve got until December 1 to watch Dangerous Ishhq, but you can probably find better ways to use your time.

That’s not quite accurate, ahmeds027. While I didn’t see Guess Who?, I have seen the film that it was a remake of: Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. Those films are about parents struggling to accept their child’s romantic relationship with someone of another race. Bewakoofiyaan is about a disapproving father, but it has none of the racial elements that were the focus of the American movies.

i did see the movie on netflix after ur recommendation and liked it, you are right the movie was different atleast in the second half, but then I personally feel indians arent a racially diverse society, Indians are divided on class and religion, so if you want to make a bollywood version, i guess that is what you would harp on the haves and the have nots

True. In 2 States, Krish’s mother keeps mentioning her skin color bias, but that’s the closest example I can come up with from Bollywood from the last several years.
