Good review, although I guess I enjoyed it a little more than you. Agreed that it’s just a flat-out bad movie — SRK stopped caring about quality a long time ago, it’s only about box office at this point — but there were some very funny scenes, Varun was good, and seeing SRK/Kajol on screen can’t be a complete waste of time, can it? 😉
Bowman Irani’s entire subplot could’ve been left out, though. And as much as I like Johnny Lever, he was annoying as hell here.
Thanks, Deepak! Comedy films don’t travel as well internationally as films in other genres, which was part of Dilwale‘s problem. Styles of comedy are so culture-specific, and jokes are often language dependent. I love Boman, but you’re right, his whole subplot could have been cut out of the movie. I wish his screentime would’ve gone to Kajol, ’cause I can’t get enough of her.
