I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with a couple of newly added 2024 theatrical releases: the Malayalam film Anweshippin Kandethum and Katrina Kaif’s Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas was filmed simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil, and there are separate catalog entries for the Hindi version and the Tamil version.

Director Nisha Pahuja’s feature documentary To Kill a Tiger — a nominee for the 96th Academy Awards for Best Documentary — debuts on Netflix on March 10, the day of the Oscars.

Three Indian series are set to expire from Netflix on March 14: Dharmakshetra, Raja Rasoi Aur Anya Kahaniyan, and Stories by Rabindranath Tagore. Those are the last three Indian series available in the United States that Netflix licensed from other companies. When they’re gone, every remaining Indian series will be a Netflix Original production. Netflix has built quite a library since its first Indian Original Series Sacred Games premiered on July 6, 2018!

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Hulu with today’s debuts of the Tamil series Heart Beat and Emraan Hashmi’s new Hindi series Showtime (also available in Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu).

Finally, I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with the Hindi-dubbed version of Captain Miller, which joins the original Tamil version already streaming on Prime.

In other Amazon Prime news, most of the Excel Entertainment back catalog is set to expire by the end of this month. Unlike the recent departures of movies from Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions, I’m not sure that this exodus is permanent. Excel has new seasons of Inside Edge and Mirzapur coming to Amazon in the next few months, and I haven’t found any news stories about them striking a deal with another streamer. Still, if you have any of their titles in your Watchlist, you might want to watch them in the next week. Excel’s fantastic debut production, Dil Chahta Hai, expires on November 27, followed by these other titles on November 28:

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with the additions of the 2019 Telugu releases Dorasaani and Mallesham and the documentary Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator.

The only new Hindi release on the docket for Netflix is their straight-to-streaming film Upstarts, starring Bhavesh Joshi Superhero‘s Priyanshu Painyuli. Upstarts debuts on Netflix October 18.

I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with one new addition to the catalog. In honor of International Women’s Day, Netflix has made the documentary Ladies First available for streaming. The short film follows Indian archer Deepika Kumari as she prepares for the 2016 Rio Olympics and explores her journey from rural poverty to international athletic success. The 40-minute movie is Netflix’s first Indian original documentary.

I also updated my list of Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime with a recent addition. I updated my list of Bollywood movies on Netflix with three new additions to the catalog. The international drama The Lovers — which stars Josh Hartnett opposite Bipasha Basu, Abhay Deol, and several other Bollywood actors — is now available for streaming. Also new are a pair of documentaries from last year: The Karma Killings and Naga the Eternal Yogi. Though Netflix’s plot description for Naga the Eternal Yogi promises an examination of “the naked yoga gurus of India,” a recurring complaint in the Netflix member reviews is that there’s not enough nudity.
