New Trailer: October 10, 2014

The trailer for Saif Ali Khan’s Happy Ending is out in advance of its theatrical release on November 21, 2014. Since the trailer lacks English subtitles, I can’t make heads or tails of the movie’s plot.

Notice the extreme sexualization of all of the women in the trailer who are cast in background roles. (Ileana D’Cruz and Kalki Koechlin are exceptions since their sexuality is integrated into their characters.) Then notice that none of those hypersexualized women are Indian.

I was curious so I actually looked it up on Wikipedia. He’s an author looking for love and inspiration, there’s something about a moviemaker….and yeah. Still don’t get it.

    Brief synopsis from bollywoodhungama:

Sources suggest that the first trailer of the film will be launched on October 10 at a popular suburban multiplex in Mumbai. Happy Ending is said to be the story of an author, played by Saif Ali Khan, who initially reaches the pinnacle with his debut novel becoming a best seller but later struggles to write his second book as he faces a writers’ block.

Happy Ending will have Ileana D’Cruz playing Saif Ali Khan’s love interest and a popular author along with Kalki Koechlin who will be seen as Saif’s former girlfriend. Apart from them, Happy Ending also stars Govinda, Ranvir Shorey among others and will have Saif Ali Khan’s friend and actress Preity Zinta in a special appearance. The film which has been extensively shot in US and India is directed by the duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K and it is slated to release on November 21.

From what I could make out in the preview, while Saif is trying to shake off the aforementioned writers block threatening is promising career, he agrees to take on writing the screenplay for a romcom produced by Govinda’s character. I believe this is where the sexcapades might come in 🙂 And the hippie beach bum looking Saif appears to be the writer’s alter-ego, or something,

Like you said, we’ll have to wait and see. But it does look interesting.
