Opening August 3: Jism 2 and Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai

Another new Hindi sequel opens in the Chicago area on August 3, 2012. Jism 2 isn’t a direct follow-up to the 2003 erotic thriller Jism and features new characters played by Randeep Hooda and Sunny Leone. Given that “jism” (Hindi for “body”) is a crude slang term in English, I will ask for my ticket using the film’s subtitle: To Love Her is to Die.

Jism 2: To Love Her is to Die opens on Friday at the Big Cinemas Golf Glen 5 in Niles and AMC South Barrington 30 in South Barrington. It has a runtime of 2 hrs. 12 min. Read my review here.

Also new at the Golf Glen 5 on Friday is the romantic drama Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai.

The comedy Kya Super Kool Hain Hum carries over for a second week at both of the above theaters and the Regal Cantera Stadium 17 in Warrenville. The South Barrington 30 is also holding over Cocktail and Bol Bachchan.

Other Indian movies showing at the Golf Glen 5 this weekend include Mirattal (Tamil), Uu Kodathara? Ulikki Padathara? (Telugu), and Vaadhyar (Malayalam).

Interesting to know that you’ll ask your ticket using the subtitle 🙂
Jism 2 looks very promising. Hope it doesn’t disappoint.

    Cheers 🙂

I’ve been on vacation since last Thursday, so I haven’t seen Kya Super Kool Hain Hum yet. It’s gotten such bad reviews that I may skip it. I’m planning to see Jism 2 on Monday.

Since both you and Anupama Chopra described Jism 2 as “unintentionally hilarious,” I think I have to see it now, Keyur. I’m going to see it Monday afternoon, so my review should be up late Monday or early Tuesday. Here’s a link to Anupama’s review:

Thanks for the link, Kathy. Anupama has said it right. In fact, in almost every review, the reviewer has mentioned about the unintentional laughter factor.

I loved this review in DNA. It’s hilarious – http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/review_aniruddha-guha-reviews-jism-2-has-ham-cheese-and-breasts_1723581

                Here’s my take on it – http://thecommonmanspeaks.com/2012/08/04/jism-2-review/

I have put a short review as I have written a full fledged review for my magazine.

Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 is releasing here on Wednesday August 8. Although I didn’t like the first part, I am looking forward to this one, mostly due to Nawazuddin.

                Cheers 🙂

Okay, now I’m dying to see Jism 2. Showtime starts in two hours.

The DNA review was great, and it alerted me to another so-bad-it’s-good film I might need to see. Haunted 3D sounds like it has one of the worst plots ever! Regarding Arif Zakaria, a supporting actor in Jism 2:
“The actor played the rapist who turns into a ghost and then rapes the ghost of the woman he raped when he was alive in Haunted 3D.”

Please send a link when you review GoW2, Keyur, since it’s not out in the U.S. Also, what magazine do you write for?

Lol! That quote which you pasted from the review is hilarious! I was in splits when I read it first. I have not seen Haunted 3D. Looks like I need to see it now 🙂 I have heard Vikram Bhatt is planning a sequel to that movie 😀

I write for Trade Guide magazine as a freelancer. I thought I told you this. Actually, it’s one of the oldest film magazines of India. Taran Adarsh used to run it all this while. Now he has retired from it so his family folks are running it.

Yes, I will surely send you the link of my review of GOW 2. I just got to know there is a paid preview tomorrow itself. Will mostly catch that. And I really hope it releases in the US.

                  Cheers 🙂

Yes, you did tell me that before, Keyur. My brain is still on vacation, apparently. 🙂

The line from that review is great. Having just returned from seeing Jism 2, I understand why the DNA review was devoted to former “ghost rapist” Arif Zakaria. He’s totally over-the-top. Now it’s time to work on my own review!
